Kabundungulu is a figure of the mythology of the Mbundu (Ambundu) of Angola, known as the twin brother of the cultural hero Sudika-Mbambi. In the reading linked to thunder, Sudika-Mbambi is the rumble that comes from the east and Kabundungulu is the echo that answers from the west. Born of the same mother, the twins rebuild the family house destroyed by a monster, slay creatures and confront the underworld, from which they bring back two daughters of the king of the dead.
