ROHO ATU

About the author

Loudvic Salcède was born in Pointe-à-Pitre and grew up in Sainte-Rose, Guadeloupe. A descendant of the Bantu diaspora now living in eastern France, he writes from that double belonging: Africa as a root, not as a border.

A lifelong fantasy reader, he kept noticing the same absence: the spirits, masks and tales he grew up with were nowhere to be found on the shelves of the genre. Norse and Arthurian legends have their epics; the Afro-diasporic mythologies, scattered by history, did not have theirs.

ROHO ATU

He founded ROHO ATU, an independent publishing house, to fill that gap. His debut novel, "The Legend of ROHO, Book I: Ebandeli" (February 2026), follows a young chosen one from the sacred lands of Ethiopia to the mysteries of ancient Egypt, before the last pyramids were built.

The Kunda Codex

Behind the fiction stands a work of cultural investigation: the Kunda Codex, a bilingual online encyclopedia of 331 spirits of the Afro-diasporic pantheons, documented with academic sources (Pierre Fatumbi Verger, Alfred Métraux, Maya Deren, Robert Farris Thompson). The Codex is free to explore: browse the Codex.
