Press release

For immediate release

A Guadeloupean bridges Africa and fantasy: The Legend of ROHO ships in signed limited edition.

Pointe-à-Pitre / Paris, April 2026. Loudvic Salcède, a writer born in Guadeloupe (Pointe-à-Pitre, raised in Sainte-Rose), publishes The Legend of ROHO — Tome I: Ebandeli. It is the first volume of a spiritual fantasy trilogy. The work draws from the mythologies of African and Afro-diasporic pantheons — Bantu, Akan, Dogon, Yoruba, Kongo, Vodou — to awaken a memory that schools had forgotten.

The story follows Roho, last of the Guardians of Axum. The world splits into two universes, NZA and NZI, when the sacred masks begin to dream too loudly. The seam of the world cracks. Roho must cross both realities to recover the lost masks and restore the balance before forgetting wins.

The novel summons the Yirnrahine Council, watching for twelve millennia, and the Molili-Onyanka, humans broken by the rite of passage who carry the shadow without being evil. They embody the wound of the Breath.

I grew up with two memories in me — the one taught at school, and the one that pulsed silently under my skin. ROHO is the story of that memory returning.
— Loudvic Salcède

Author biography

Loudvic Salcède was born in Pointe-à-Pitre and grew up in Sainte-Rose, Guadeloupe. His family weaves two memories — the elders' tales held as much weight as the school textbooks. He descends from the Bantu diaspora, a memory he set out to rebuild.

The author long searched for stories that spoke to his roots, not just about his roots. The conclusion was clear. Those stories were missing. So he chose to write them.

The Legend of ROHO opens a trilogy weaving eight spiritual ensembles — Bantu, Akan, Dogon, Yoruba, Kongo, Vodou, Kemet and other Afro-diasporic traditions — without pastiche or folklorization. Beyond the novel, the author builds a complete transmedia universe designed as a modern entry point for new generations.
