Dubiaku is the hero of a West African tale attached to the Akan (Ashanti) oral tradition, presented here under the Agni label. A young boy, he is held to be the only mortal to outwit Death: he secretly exchanges his brothers for Death's children, whom she devours by mistake, then disguises himself as a stone to escape her anger before turning her own deadly formula back against her.
